Rainbow Signs was founded by James Harmon in 1946 after serving in the United States Army. He was later joined by his brother Clyde Harmon and his son Curt Harmon. In 1973, Rainbow moved our production and operation facilities to Greenwood, SC where we operate today.
All of our design, fabrication, and manufacturing are done in-house at our Greenwood facility. Our installers are all part of the Rainbow team and we do not use subcontractors, giving us full control of our projects from beginning to end. This approach allows us to provide our customers with an outstanding product and experience.
Project Management & Permitting

The Rainbow team has relationships with a large network of permitting offices and municipalities around the US and will make sure the permitting process moves as efficiently as possible. When installation is scheduled, we will carefully coordinate installation timelines with your team and on site contractors.
Our design team has over 50 years of combined experience in the sign industry. With a thorough knowledge of the latest design trends, materials, and production methods, Rainbow will work diligently to meet your project design requirements. Rainbow has been manufacturing signs since 1946. While remaining relevant to the advances of technology in the sign industry over the last 69 years, Rainbow has remained committed to our corps values of superior quality, integrity, and excellence. Unlike many of our competitors, Rainbow Signs does not utilize subcontractors in our work, allowing us to oversee the complete design, production, and installation of our products. Our fabricators are true craftsman and our signs are built with the highest quality standards and attention to detail.
Installation and Support
At Rainbow we use our own experienced crews for all installation and service and do not subcontract any of our installations. By using our own people, we can be sure our clients will have an exceptional and consistent experience. Due to the skill levels required to manufacture and install a superior sign, a majority of the Rainbow team is comprised of long-term employees with over 20 years experience in the field.
With a large number of crews, we are able to service sites quickly and because we use our own crews, we work directly with our team to ensure project requirements are communicated clearly and completed in a timely manner.
